Project Overview

We were tasked with tiling multiple bathrooms in a high-end residential property. The client selected large-format tiles for a sleek, modern finish. While the final result was intended to be clean and seamless, the scale of the tiles introduced a unique challenge: achieving precise layouts in compact spaces, and managing extensive trim work for a perfect finish.

The Challenge

Large tiles can make a stunning impact—but they demand accuracy. The bathrooms featured various fittings, alcoves, and architectural quirks, which meant that careful consideration was needed to ensure consistent tile lines, minimal cuts, and a balanced overall appearance. In addition, the amount of trim required around edges and fixtures added another layer of complexity.

Our Approach

Rather than rushing into the installation, we dedicated time at the beginning of the project to plan the layout of each bathroom meticulously. This included measuring each space in detail, marking out tile positions, and calculating optimal placement to avoid awkward cuts or excessive wastage. Our goal was to maximise the aesthetic impact of the large tiles, while ensuring every line aligned perfectly and the finish remained clean and professional.

Thanks to the upfront planning and focus on precision, we delivered a high-end finish that exceeded client expectations. The tiles were laid with minimal wastage, clean transitions, and perfectly aligned trim, creating a seamless, polished look across all bathrooms.

What We Learned

This project reinforced one of our core principles: planning is everything. Taking the time to map out layouts before a single tile is laid is key to achieving the best possible result—especially when working with large-format tiles in detailed spaces.
